Recently, YUEFENG Aluminum’s project titled “Technology Upgrade and Application of New Materials for 84 Electrolytic Cells” successfully secured RMB 15.3 million in initial central government fiscal funding.
At the core of this project is the adoption of a fully graphitized cathode—a new energy-saving material that offers exceptional electrical and thermal conductivity, strong resistance to sodium penetration, and superior thermal shock resistance. This innovation significantly reduces the bottom voltage drop of electrolytic cells and enhances current efficiency, effectively addressing the long-standing industry challenges of high energy consumption and short cell lifespan in conventional electrolysis systems.

This central fiscal support not only recognizes the technological innovation embedded in YUEFENG’s primary aluminum production but also reinforces Mengtai Group’s strategic foundation of driving growth through innovation and enhancing core competitiveness. Moreover, it offers the broader electrolytic aluminum industry a practical and replicable pathway toward energy saving, carbon reduction, and operational efficiency improvement.
To date, the company has secured central government funding for two technology retrofit projects, totaling RMB 24.85 million, with RMB 20.9 million already disbursed. The remaining funds will be released in accordance with policy requirements upon full project completion, final acceptance, and settlement audit.
