Recently, the Wuxi Science and Technology Commission, the Science Park Management Committee, and other five departments officially announced the list of Wuxi City's New Technologies, New Products, and New Services (the 20th batch). The two automotive lightweighting key technologies proposed by Yuefeng Aluminum Materials Institute, namely "Key Technology Development and Industrialization Application of the Overall Battery Replacement Assembly for New Energy Trucks at the Bottom" and "Research and Application of Key Technologies for Aluminum-Substitute Steel Full Aluminum Body Lightweighting", were successfully selected into the High-End Equipment and Manufacturing New Technologies after being strictly reviewed by experts and multi-level re-examination and public announcement. This marks that the company's related scientific and technological innovation achievements have received professional recognition and authoritative certification.
 
The two selected achievements fully demonstrate the technical research and industrial application capabilities of Yuefeng Aluminum Materials Institute in the field of automotive lightweighting. Among them, "Key Technology Development and Industrialization Application of the Overall Battery Replacement Assembly for New Energy Trucks at the Bottom" independently developed 6E21 aluminum alloy, with core indicators reaching international advanced levels. This technology overcomes bottlenecks such as alloy research, section optimization, and welding deformation control, innovates the battery replacement frame structure, and has been applied in scenarios such as long-distance logistics, ports, and mining areas, and has the ability to expand to passenger car body parts and rail transit fields.
 
"Research and Application of Key Technologies for Aluminum-Substitute Steel Full Aluminum Body Lightweighting" achieved a 20% - 30% reduction in body structure weight, and further improved the torsional stiffness and shear strength of SPR joints. The project overcame core processes such as the optimization design of aluminum and steel heterogeneous materials, and the control of high-strength aluminum alloy forming cracking, solving the problems of high manufacturing difficulty, unstable connection quality, and high manufacturing costs of traditional aluminum body manufacturing. The related achievements have been mass-produced in the aluminum structural components of mainstream new energy vehicle bodies in China.
