The demand for aluminum cans in Japan is predicted to reach 2.091 billion cans in 2025

Data released by the Japan Aluminum Can Recycling Association shows that in 2025, the demand for aluminum cans in Japan (including domestic and imported aluminum cans) is approximately 2.091 billion cans, remaining the same as the previous year and still staying at the level of 2 billion cans for 10 consecutive years.
Domestic demand for aluminum cans is approximately 2.07 billion cans, remaining basically the same as the previous year. Among them, due to the soaring prices, the domestic beer industry's demand for aluminum cans decreased by 1.3% year-on-year to approximately 840 million cans, continuing to show a downward trend year by year. Due to the transition of new beverage types, the demand for aluminum cans in alcoholic beverages increased by 1.5% year-on-year to approximately 550 million cans. In the non-alcoholic beverage sector, despite the strong performance of soft drinks due to seasonal influences, the demand for aluminum cans for non-alcoholic beverages increased by only 0.3% year-on-year to approximately 680 million cans due to price hikes.
