The latest data from the General Administration of Customs shows that in August 2025, China exported 530,000 tons of unrolled aluminum and aluminum products, a year-on-year decrease of 10.2%. From January to August, the cumulative export volume was 4 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.2%.
In August, China exported 180,000 tons of alumina, up 26.0% year-on-year. From January to August, the cumulative export volume reached 1.75 million tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 59.3%.
In August, China imported 320,000 tons of unrolled aluminum and aluminum products, up 12.9% year-on-year. From January to August, the cumulative imports reached 2.65 million tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.7%.
In August, China imported 18.29 million tons of bauxite and its concentrates, up 18.2% year-on-year. From January to August, a total of 141.5 million tons of bauxite and its concentrates were imported, representing a year-on-year increase of 31.4%.
