According to foreign media reports, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said last Friday that after a "very good" phone call with US President Trump, the trade agreement with the US is making progress.
Sheinbaum did not disclose details and said that the agreement would not be announced until it was reached.
Mexico is seeking to reduce the tariffs imposed by the US on steel, aluminum and automobiles, and is also negotiating on origin rules and measures to strengthen the North American supply chain.
Mexico and the US have held multiple rounds of negotiations this year. In the third round held in July, officials from both sides discussed issues such as economic security, labor, agriculture, electronic payment, steel, aluminum and automobiles.
